Manchester indie rockers Martial Arts have recently returned with their single “Too Much Fun”, taken from their upcoming EP, From The Burnoff, due out next month via 5DB Records.
“Too Much Fun” is a track that hits with a sense of urgency, with an indie rock and punk spirit with a driving anthemic punch and awesome spirit that asks questions about overindulgence and hard truths about the luxeries that we have. There are qualities of post punk rockers like Shame in its contemplation, while delivering a ferocious punch and an infectious nature that helps its message land that much more effectively.
Speaking on the track they add:
“we have a tendency to overindulge in western spaces on products & luxuries we do not need, this is often at the detriment of the global south who are exploited for profit. I want people shouting I’m having too much fun at shows and recognising the uncomfortable truth of why we get to live in that bubble, it’s hilarious, hideous and hopefully a wake up call”
