Fir Cone Children is a one-man dream punk/shoegaze/indie rock project from Berlin who released his twelve album Vs. The Real World last week via Blackjack Illuminst Records.
“Madhu” is its rambunctious garage rocker that channels the raw passion and urgency of early Wavves with a sun-soaked punk spirit that roams free. Its described as a track that enters a “surreal dreampunk world” and this couldn’t be a more accurate description. There is an otherworldly sort of dream-state to the track, that has elements of surf rock, psych, and lo-fi punk garage rock that feels like the sort of thing to take the blogs by storm in the mid 2000s.
Or as they put it:
“Madhu” is a celebration of connection, of letting go, and of how the most ridiculous gestures can hold the deepest meaning. Sometimes, all it takes is a Saturday night, a short drive, and a bowl on your head.
