Quells, the project of Detroit-based singer-songwriter Adam W. Fitzgerald, has has returned with new single “Life is Art”, a preview of their upcoming debut solo album, Jaded Love, which will be released via Underflow Records on September 9. It’s the first of a planned schedule to release a new single every first Friday.
“Life is Art” casts a dreamlike indie rock sensation with a vibrant and colorful spirit that shines with a widescreen nature. Lush melodies and crisp instrumentation coalesce into something hypnotic and playful with a dazzling groove to it, while delivering a feeling of melancholy and reflection that hits with a genunie emotion spirit. There are traces of early 2010s indie staples such as Washed Out and Wild Nothing, that has a cinematic quality that provides some perfect listening for the upcoming summer months.
