Trails and Ways are an indie rock band that makes music from their respective home studios spread out across Oakland, San Jose, and Samoa, California. They returned last year after a long hiatus, following many years of taking the blog scene by storm – including blogs like this one.
Their members now all have kids, got degrees, but are back with new music and are preparing for the release of their next album, Open Water. They have recently shared album single, “Young”, a gorgeous and airy atmospheric blend of indie rock and pop with a smooth groove that feels like a cool breeze on a perfect summers day. There is an inviting and vibrant quality to the track that brings out an easy-going nature and feeling that will put your mind, body, and spirit at ease.
Speaking further on the track, they bands addss:
In a foggy, coastal-indie pop world, a lonely woman sat down with her guitar for company. Her fingers found an insistent groove, inviting her to voice themes of commitment and becoming an adult. Defined by layers of pulsing guitars and harmonizing vocals, the song paints a soundscape of gradual but steadfast forward motion.
