Swedish cinematic soul outfit Sunnan have recently returned with their single “Longing To Miss You”, taken from their upcoming sophomore album, Spaghetti Soul, due for release this Autumn.
“Longing To Miss You” is an expansive folk-driven track with a big sprawling widescreen nature. The track has an epic cinematic scope to it, so it makes sense that the band say that the single was the spark behind the new album, with its melody and emotional core igniting the vision for the entire record.
Along with the 60s folk elements, there’s a Western quality to it that feels like Tarantino if you left him in the Swedish wilderness for a couple of months.
Speaking on the track, the band adds:
“Longing To Miss You emerged through questions of life, death, and how we all must learn to cope with the fact that loving also means losing.”
