Reiyo The Giant is a genre-bending artist from the Bronx who has recently shared “Get It Together”, which features production from he Australian group, breathe.
“Get It Together” is a complete vibe, with a smooth and seductive set of trip-hop esque production work and beats that lay down the perfect sonic groundwork for their soulful vocals. There’s a bit of a late 90s presence to the track, gorgeous adorned with strings and tight instrumentation that delivers a sound that is both cinematic and sweeping, yet also hits with a level of emotional intimacy and sincerity that soars with the grace of acts like Portishead.
Speaking on the track, they add:
“This one is for the jesters, the clowns, the performers, & the (recovering) people pleasers. There’s always this pressure to stay the same in the midst of your grief or hurt — just so the world knows what to do with you still. & for us, I think it’s okay to be a little upset at what that implies. To resent the expectation a bit. To question it. To challenge it.”
