Aftercurrents is a lofi surf rock/indie rock project from San Diego, California who has recently returned with their new single “Over.”
It’s a lo-fi surf rocker that is about “wanting to disappear and hiding fear until it finally comes out.” The track has a lively garage rock and punk shuffling bite that has a steady biting pace and lo-fi charm that takes us back to the late 2000s blog rock scene that feels like a throwback to the early days of acts like Wavves and Bass Drum of Death. There is a sense of nostalgia to it that feels natural and a part of its charming nature.
