Brooklyn-based indie rockers Extra Space have recently returned with their single “Something Strange”, taken ahead of their upcoming sophomore album, New Colors.

There’s a breezy slacker rock charm that carries itself with a sense of melancholy and longing, a fitting soundtrack for these dog days of winter. There’s a blend of the atmospheric hum of Yo La Tengo and Luna, with some of the more melancholic early releases from Real Estate that features lush guitar work and a style of production with a lo-fi quality that is all a part of its charm and winning formula.
