Toronto coldwave outfit TRAITRS have recently returned with their single “Dream Drowning”, the latest shared ahead of the release of their upcoming album, Possessor, which is due out on March 13 and follows the previously shared “i was ill, you were wrong.”
“Dream Drowning” captures an epic icy post punk and new wave blend with the chilly atmospheric with a lingering, haunted gothic nature. There are a ton of influences from The Cure to Cold Cave in its big epic scope that gives it a widescreen cinematic drawl, while delivering a vivid sense of of melancholy and loss, one that is romanticized with pure epic scope. It’s a perfect bit of comfort during this pretty brutal winter.
