Bellman is the project of Norwegian musician Arne-Johan Rauan, who has recently shared single “She’s Reading Poe,” a track that explores the darker aspects of the human inner life, looking at alienation, and the dissolution of emotional control.
Even though its looking at a darker subject, it attacks it with a bristling dream pop quality that has a shimmering set of arrangements and a lush vocal performance that soars with the charm and melancholy of songs from the mid-to-late 2000s. Think The Raveonettes meets Jens Leakman. It’s all kinds of hypnotic and sets the perfect mindset to combat the strange times that we live in.
