Belfast post-punk/electronic act CHALK stopped into Brooklyn for a performance at Baby’s All Right on November 20th as a part of their first ever headlining U.S. tour ahead of the release of their debut album next year.

The band performedtracks from their trilogy of Conditions EPs, blending a flurry of post punk, new wave, industrial, into something that felt like a brilliant fusion of Nine Inch Nails, HEALTH, Gilla Band, but ultimately their sound is one very much of their own. A perfect combination of the fierce intensity of the punk instrumentation, and the hypnotic life-affirming electronics and beats.

Frontman Ross Cullen led the charge with a captivating performance that and command of the stage that led the charge with an assured confidence. Cullen ventured into the crowd many times, ushering in a church that was equal parts rave and rock show, with the crowd very much involved and moving with a gleeful energy of their own.

We’re excited to see what the band’s debut album brings and how their audiences and rooms grow over time as they just only getting started.
