Hugely popular Australian Indie pop due Royel Otis made their Pier 17 debut on Saturday night for the first night of a two-show run at the venue. The second night (Sunday) was subsequently relocated to Terminal 5 as a weather precaution.
The band played the majority of songs from their breakthrough EP, Sofa Kings, and debut album, Pratts and Pain, along with a number of tracks from their recent release, Hickey.
The highlight of the evening took place on the makeshift b-stage for a cover of Cranberries classic “Linger.” The 90’s theme continued with a cover of Sophie Ellis Bextor’s club classic “Murder on the Dance Floor,” which has become a feature of the band’s sets.
