Swimming Pool is the collaborative project of Klyl Shifroni and Seraina Fässler, a duo based between The Hague and Zürich who caught our attention earlier this summer with “Sunday.”
In August they released their debut EP, Line Cuts, which features tracks like the single and highlight “Wednesday Kinda Weekend.” Described as a “drifting, late-summer ballad dedicated to citrusy air, thoughtless weekends, and a place where the sun doesn’t go.”
There’s a lush day-dream like approach which feels like watching the sunset go down during the final days of a glorious summer. There’s a blend of dreamy 90s shoegaze and dream pop, with some psych-rock textures and vocals as well. It’s a hazy slow burn that operates with a cinematic soundscape that is delicately drifting into a cool breeze as it slowly reaches its chill yet life-affirming climax.
