Joy Forever are a newly formed post punk outfit from Hamburg, Germany, who have recently returned with their new single “City of Rain.” It’s a tracck that captures “the raw tension and strange beauty of urban life.
The track lives up to its name, soundtracking a dark stroll through a gothic-themed town with the rain pouring down in an unrelenting manner. There’s a bit of a Fontaines D.C. quality to it from the vocals to the detailed post punk instrumentation and production work. There’s a harrowing nature to the track that is unshakable and has us completely immersed within its world.
