august for dawn is the New Zealand-based project of Charlie Ryder (of Yumi Zouma) – who also has been releasing other solo music under his own name.
We previously shared his debut release under the moniker, the lovely “lift to the fifth floor”. He’s since returned with the equally as tender “wide receiver”, track that “describes a mother’s pain after the death of her son in a hit-and-run car crash.” There’s a light and delicate feeling in the air of the track, gorgeously composed with a spellbinding cinematic glow buried beneath all of its fragility.
