Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter Maggie Pope recently returned with her lovely new single “The Wandering”, a song about hope, loss, and beauty.
A sparse but effective melancholic dreamy folk sound with an Andrew Bird-like energy and atmospheric tone, paired with some fragile and emotive vocals and banjo solos from Steve Varney.
Speaking on the track, Pope adds:
“This song is about hope. It’s a song about loss and beauty… maybe some ghosts and butterflies. The moment you realize a hike in the woods is actually a hug from the Universe.”
