Mazey Haze, the Amsterdam-based indie-pop artist Nadine Appeldoorn, will return on with her new EP, Back to the Start, which will be released on April 7th.
The typically retro-minded dreamy sound is inspired by themes of “sacrificing your own personal authenticity to appease someone else’s desires,” something we can all relate to in one way or another. Channeling Stereolab, Alvvays, and many great dream poppers of the past and present, “Kill Me I Got You” is as fully formed of a sound as they come.
Speaking on the track, Appeldoorn adds:
“I’ve learned that I should never force things with other people and be honest with myself and others – and I shouldn’t be afraid to communicate that.”
