Dutch singer Josephine Odhil first caught our attention with a pair of singles last year, and has since returned with her single “Familiars”, a track that will appear on her debut album which will be released in January.

“Familiars” is a vibrant and colorful bit of a genre-bender that floats between an enchanting 80s art rock and dream pop sound, reminiscent of classic bands such as Stereolab, as well as contemporaries like Melody’s Echo Chamber.

They move with slowness. They communicate in silence. They have seen the rise and fall of nations and have lived for millions of years. Familiars is a song about the mysterious spirit of plants. Some of us may sense that they are alive beyond their roots…
