Scrounge is the South London-based two-piece of singer and guitarist Lucy Alexander and drummer Luke Cartledge. Over the weekend they released their debut mini-album Sugar, Daddy via Fierce Panda Records.

Over the summer we shared the infectious album opener “This Summer’s Been Lethal” and today we fit back with the equally fierce “HIT.”

The track harnesses the same brooding energy that feels like a damn that’s about to break. There’s a power to its gritty nature, that combines with its wicked smart hooks to craft a well-polished rock song that will infuse itself well into your head.

Speaking on the song the band adds:

“‘HIT’ is sort of our misguided attempt at a conventional pop song. I mean, it’s got a chorus and a four-to-the-floor beat, so that’s a start – but filtered through the lens of the punk, dance and industrial music we love so much. A radio-unfriendly unit shifter.”
