hyps is the Los Angeles-based duo of Keena Batti & Molly Falck who combined forces setting out to embrace the sounds of the late 80s and early 90s, as seen on their recently released EP, Crying in Bathrooms. This includes the delightful lead single and opening cut “Best Wishes”.

The track coasts by with a cool charm, bringing elements of a jangly 90s indie rock sound with a more synth based pop sound that never trades hooks for melodic smarts. It’s a a song that they described as “new wave, post-break up bop about all those conflicting feelings in the wake of heartbreak. Airy synths add an ethereal sheen.” And they absolutely nail it.
