Mope is the project of Brooklyn-based musician Rob Norris, who makes self-described “happy music for sad people.”

This is certinly the case in his recently shared single “Lazy” a track that features some jangly guitar goodness and emotive vocal work, with a bit of a Real Estate and Rolling Blackouts Coastel Fever vibe with some Kurt Vile-like navigation.

About the track, Norris adds:

This particular track speaks to growth as individual when taking on new challenges in life. People often talk about the things they would like to accomplish and the roles they would like to play in their communities or the arts. Often times I find that you don’t fully realize what you are signing up for with your ambitions. This song is about getting exactly what you wish for as well as the work and responsibility that comes with that.
