Neighborhood Libraries is Vancouver-based composer, producer, film scorer, and neo-classical performer Taylor Swindell.

Swindell, who previously performed in indie-rock outfit The Tourist Company, will release his new EP, Postcards For The Backyard, pt. 1 on May 20th. It will feature the recently shared lead single, the gorgeously composed and very cinematic “Yellow Boots In The Yard.” The piece feels made for a touching movie moment, full of a devastating sense of loss and wonder, yet still maintaining a sense of wonder and hope.

About the track, Swindell adds:

The song is about my backyard and finding imagination in ordinary places. We’ve spent a lot of time there the last two years. It envisions a time in the future when I will inevitably be nostalgic for the days when we were forced to spend so much time with family.” Adding, “The title comes from a pair of boots that my toddler had that he insisted on wearing for way too long. It’s cool watching him figure out the world because everything he sees he thinks is the best thing ever.
