Many Voices Speak, the project of Swedish musician Matilda Mård, will release her sophomore album Gestures on April 29th via Strangers Candy. We previously shared the stunning lead single “Seat For Sadness” and today share the follow-up effort, “Within Reach.”
The track bathes in a warm glowing folk-rock atmosphere, with a sparse beauty surrounding her stunning vocals, with the silence and space between each note almost pulling as much power as her devastating lyrics and the warm instrumentation. It’s yet another absolutely wonderful effort from what is looking to be a powerhouse record.
About the song, Mård, adds:
It is one of the songs on the album that started out from an issue and ended up as a reminder on how to cope with it. As the song was finished, I had figured out something new about myself that could actually help me in real life. That’s something that unites the songs on the album, that I’m trying to find new ways of thinking as a strategy for myself so that I can live with certain things that can’t be changed.”
