Sydney-based punk rockers Bloods have hit back hard with their amped-up new single “BOSS,” a song that was written as an ode to “recognizing your inner strength.”

The track has a triumphant and pumped up spirit that chuggs along with the sort of punk spirit that feels very West Coast 90s. The band are working on their third studio record, due for release sometime in the second half of 2022.

About “BOSS” the band’s lead singer MC had this additional bit of context:

My friends and I talk a lot about being women who work in predominantly male environments. I know so many amazing, strong, intelligent women who have at one time or another struggled to feel heard, taken seriously or worry their assertiveness is taken as aggression. I wrote BOSS as a sort of mantra for my friends. I wanted them to have something that they could put on anytime they felt the world was stacked against their hopes and dreams to remind them that they deserve to be at the table and that they are a mother fucking BOSS.
