London-based indie / alt-rock band The Young Flood have recently returned with “Jefferson’s Party” the first from a batch of new material that will make up their sophomore LP.

The track features some post-rock guitar work that reminds of Minus The Bear, with an airy glacial atmosphere that provides the perfect backdrop for the vocals that lead the charge. The song’s lyrics are “written from the perspective of a member of a religious cult, questioning their faith and deciding to escape to another life.” There is a distinct emotional quality to the sound that is capture not just in the vocal delivery but the instrumentation and production at large.
