Dunebug is the solo project of Manchester-born DIY musician Chi Limpiroj that recently shared their lovely single “Lie To Me.” It’s a song that they recorded, wrote, and performed themselves in their bedroom. It’s a song about a the complications out of a casual relationship that takes a slightly more serious turn over time, and dealing with that internalization and how you show – or withhold – your emotions.

The track has a lush and dreamy retro folk/pop sound, the sort of whimsical and charming sound that feels like its from a different era entirely.

About the song they add:

A song about a “casual, non-exclusive” relationship that has become more serious over time, and being afraid of expressing your feelings in fear of scaring the other person away, resulting in suppressed feelings, suffering in silence and the will to be treated unfairly purely to maintain the facade of the relationship you currently have. The main theme of this track is vulnerability and submissiveness and completely succumbing to it, despite being dressed as a love song.
