Manchester-based singer-songwriter Caoilfhionn Rose released her lovely new record Truly earlier this month via Gondwana Records. We shared a few songs from the album ahead of it’s release and today focus on one of the album’s highlights, “To Me.”
A sparse but haunting track, she describes it as “feeling a connection with nature and life. It’s a peaceful tune about noticing everything that’s happening around you.”
“To Me” has an enchanting quality that feels like a mix of Big Thief, The Antlers and Angel Olsen. The track is disarmingly effective in the way it creates this blissful sonic vibe while also delivering an emotional gut punch in such a vivid and authentic fashion.
