Weezer will release their 14th album OK Human on January 29th via Crush Music/Atlantic Records, it’s their first of two albums due out this year, with thier other new album Van Weezer, due out later this year after being postponed from 2020.
Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo took inspiration from Beach Boys’ classic album Pet Sounds and last summer he and the band laid down tracks with a 38-piece orchestra resulting in OK Human (a nod of course to Radiohead’s Ok Computer).
The band gave us a taste of the album that will be out next week with single “All My Favorite Songs.” The use of strings works pretty well with the pop friendly sound that they’re going for here which is mostly effective, if not rather safe.
