Nation of Language have quietly released their new single “Deliver Me From Wondering Why.” This single is to hold their fans over while they work on album two.

Songwriter and Vocalist Ian Devaney said of the track:

‘Deliver Me From Wondering Why’ is a bit of an exploration, rooted in a desire for something repetitious and a bit spacey – something that would make you really want to zone out or go on a long drive on the highway. We worked with Nick Millhiser (Holy Ghost!) and it was just a really fun exercise in letting the track carry us wherever it was going to go. The backbone of the steady synth arpeggios and  rhythms just leads endlessly forward and lets the mind wander around it.

The track is more of what fans love from the band, beautiful new wave music that doesn’t sound out of place coming out today. The laser-like synths that drift from ear to ear throughout the song give the song a bit of a kick while the constant beat of programmed drums never changes and keeps the track grounded. The last 30 seconds or so feels as if the band is taking off into space as they continue to push towards what is next for them.
