Found Space is the project of Spencer Smalley who first won us over with their debut offering “Don’t Let It Go” back in March. Spencer is a touring member of Day Wave, whose Jackson Phillips once again lends a hand on production duties on their second single, “Shadows” which we have the honor of premiering with you today.

“Shadows” is a lovely melancholic and dreamy track that has Phillips and Day Wave’s fingerprints all over it. On it you can feel the inward introspection found by Smalley, who looks back on past failed projects, lost loves and losing their father to addiction, all put into one magical dreamy sound that hits home in all the right ways. It feels like a warm embrace on a mountainside perched right above the sun as it makes its final descent below the oceanline.

Or as they describe it:

One morning, a chord structure dawned on me and I instantly loved it. It was warm and mellow, yet I was in a time of turmoil. I needed to confess some confusion and doubt. Shadows just happened to be the right place to do so. The underlying sonic warmth wrapped up my hurt in a nice thick blanket. I was able to come to terms with a few mysteries as a result. Love is the biggest mystery to me, and sometimes it’s better left that way.

Please enjoy the premiere of “Shadows” below.
