Cadeaux is the collaborative indie-pop project from L.A. natives Briana Lane and Darian Zahedi – both of which are members in other groups (Lane is half of female indie duo Winslow and Zahedi is in CRX, along with The Strokes’ Nick Valensi). The name CADEAUX comes from the French word for “gifts” and was the original last name of Lane’s great grandfather.
“Bad” is the band’s first single, a track that acts as the perfect farewell to the summer we never really had. It has a funky groovy element that works well under Lane’s sugary sweet vocals and a polished production style, that was mixed by Shane Stoneback (Vampire Weekend, Rostam, Cults). It’s got a seductive quality that is refined and on point, a hell of a debut offering for sure.
The band released the track this weekend and we are excited to share it with you today as we wave goodbye to the weekend.
