Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Theresa Lucia returned with her new 5-song EP Boxes on June 27th. The EP is a personal ode to her family, as well as “equality, heartbreak and the healing powers of life in the big city.” The EP’s title track made it to the semi-finals of the International Songwriters Competition.
And one listen to the track will help you understand why. Lucia is able to provide a comforting 90’s-esque folk and pop sound feel effortless as can be, with some natural songwriting ability that shines through in a heartwarming fashion. It sounds like the sort of song that would’ve been all of the radio back in the day.
