Charlottesville, Virginia’s Stray Fossa returned this September with their lovely EP Laridae, of which we shared a handful of tracks.

They have since followed up the EP with new single “It’s Nothing, a track that combines the lush and chill laid back vibe of acts like Real Estate with the more 80s dream-laden qualities of Wild Nothing. They continue to flash new aspects of their sound that shine greatly in a way that feels new but very much them at the very same time.

You can stream “It’s Nothing” below and find a bit more about the track from the band themselves posted below.

The basis for “It’s Nothing” came out of work on our last EP, but the track didn’t feel settled until after two weeks of playing it on tour. We produce/record in our attic so once home we got to work tracking it right away. The lyrics fell into place shortly thereafter and signify being torn between two passions; it could be read as a break-up song in so far as it deals with the realization that you might have to give up one passion in order to commit yourself fully to the other.
