New York musician Scott Chasolen returned earlier this month with his new album Living in Limbo. The album came from a place of urgency and one that was very personal to him, different from a lot of the psych rock-leaning work of his that fans may be used to hearing.

“I have been waiting for many years to share this record. It’s a very personal journey and the songs were born out of therapeutic necessity during a really tough time in my life. I wrote and recorded the entire thing alone in my apartment. The healing power of music never ceases to amaze me.”

You can feel this passion and emotion on the track’s opening moment “Limbo,” one that clearly sounds like an artist using his music to heal and come to terms with something most personal to them. Along with some thoughtful and emotional lyrics, melodically it hits aa note that feels raw and real and true and hammers his point home in both an urgent and genuine fashion, something that is a very delicate balance that he captures perfectly.
