Late Thursday night The National’s frontman Matt Berninger took to his Instagram page to make a pretty big announcement: that he has a solo album on the way. The album is entitled Serpentine Prison produced and arranged by Booker T. Jones of Memphis soul group Booker T. & the M.G.’s.
The National’s bassist Scott Devendorf also took to his Instagram to share he contributed to the record, along with The National’s touring members Ben Lanz and Kyle Resnick, The Walkmen’s Walter Martin and Matt Barrick, and many others.
This isn’t the only new musical news from Berninger, who finally shared his wonderful collaboration with Phoebe Bridgers. It’s a gorgeous “Walking on a String,” which appears in Zach Galifianakis’ Netflix film Between Two Ferns: The Movie. Find the music video for the track posted below as well.
