Last week saw MGMT wrap up the final leg of their tour in support of their 2018 album Little Dark Age (released via Columbia Records), which was one of our favorite albums of the year.

Warpaint

Kicking off the show was Warpaint, who are about to head into the studio for a new record and gave us a brief but tight set of various favorite from throughout their career. It’s been a good three years since their 2016 album Heads Up, so we are eagerly awaiting a new one from them.

MGMT

We last caught MGMT last year during their two-night run at Brooklyn Steel. The band expanded upon that performance, upping the ante with a blow-up version of the yellow figure seen on the album cover for Little Dark Age that emerged during the performance of the title track. The band gave us a healthy dosage of songs of the new record as well as favorites from their debut album, with staples such as “Electric Feel,” “Time To Pretend,” and “Kids” sounding as essential and vibrant as ever.
