This is not a Rickroll. Rick Astley, the 80’s singer who regained some newfound notoriety in recent years thanks to the internet and “rickrolling,” recently embarked on his first proper tour since 1989. In 2016 Astley released his new album 50 via BMG and just recently brought the tour to New York, for a performance at Webster Hall on February 17.

The show is a real thing that did happen, and it of course included “Never Gonna Give You Up” as the closer during the encore (along with a cover of AC/DC’s “Highway To Hell”), along with his other big hit, “Together Forever.” Astley also delivered various cuts from his career, as well as covers of Nat King cole’s “When I Fall In Love,” Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk” and The Temptations’ “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg.”

Our photographer Joe Saturday was there to capture photos from Astley’s performance, which also included an opening set from Harrison Kipner. Find photo galleries from both performances posted below, along with Astley’s setlist.
