After all the rather unfortunate drama surrounding Car Seat Headrest’s latest release Teens of Denial (released via Matador Records) it was good to be able to see them at Rough Trade NYC back in May, where it was a distraction free night for Will Toledo, only about the music.
Toledo and his now expanded four-piece live band ran through all the best cuts from the album (“Drunk Drivers/Killer Whales”) along with other favorites from his already impressive many earlier releases (“Times to Die”). It won’t be long until Car Seat Headrest break out even further, and it looks like that time has arrived as they’ve already sold out two night at Bowery Ball in September.
