Just when you thought Grimes popularity couldn’t possible rise anymore, she goes and releases Art Angels, one of the best pop albums that we saw in 2015. The love for Grimes grew to even further lengths last year, and it seems like everybody was finally on board with the work of Claire Boucher.

She made her live return in mid-November, first with a big-time performance at Terminal 5. To my delight, she added a much smaller show on November 18, where she played at the much more intimate Music Hall of Williamsburg. Boucher was a bit under the weather so she played a smaller set than we expected, but considering it was a free show there was no right to complain. Sure, I would’ve liked to hear a few more songs from her, but she gave us quite a bit considering that she really was feeling under the weather.

It may have only been an eight-song set, but she made good use of each one of those spots. Any set that features “Realiti,” “Genesis,” and “Oblivion” is alright in my books. Plus we got to hear one of the best songs of the entire year with “Kill v. Maim,” which was a pitch perfect closer to the fun abbreviated night.
