White Lung, who just released their great new album Twisted Fantasy, played a wild show at Mercury Lounge on Thursday night.

The group are led by front-woman Mish Way, whose vocals were the perfect combination for the fierce punk-slinging guitar riffs that the band provide. They performed their material in a loud, unforgiving manner, that delivered on the promise and then some that their studio recordings provide. Guitarist Kenny Williams skillfully riffs away up there, not missing a single note. Drummer Anne-Marie Vassiliou and bassist Hether Fortune maintained a steady rhythm section that kept it all together.

The crowd wasn’t as crazy as I expected, but eventually a small little mosh pit did emerge. The band played Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus the night before, which I heard (and imagined) was a much wilder show. Even so, the band still delivered a memorable set that was exactly what I wanted.

Find some more photos from their set posted below.
