With the release date six weeks away, the hype machine for Guardians of the Galaxy keeps building with the release of this newest international trailer.

Right off the bat, the tone is different from the first two trailers. There’s no “Hooked on a Feeling” or “Spirit in the Sky”, but dramatic orchestral music instead. We see some new footage, starting with Peter’s abduction from Earth and continuing with more character dialogue – namely from Gamora and Rocket. I’m just glad that we finally got to hear from Gamora this far into the marketing blitz. Also, the banter between Quill and Rocket highlights the comedic side of the film and further displays Bradley Cooper’s voice work as Rocket.

Guardians of the Galaxy character poster

As I mentioned earlier, this trailer comes at a time when the buzz campaign for Guardians of the Galaxy is building to a high. Four character posters were released last week, and there is a daily giveaway on the film’s Facebook page all this month. It does also follow the second domestic trailer that was released last month. Additionally, this trailer was domestically released on E! Online.

Guardians of the Galaxy, which follows the ragtag team of rogues (Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot) on their quest to save the galaxy from unspeakable evil (Nebula, Ronan, and Thanos), hits theaters in the US on August 1 and in the UK on July 31.
