David Fincher’s next effort is the highly anticipated Gone Girl. The thriller is an adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s novel, with a new ending scripted into the film by Flynn herself.
Ben Affleck stars as a man whose wife (Rosamund Pike) goes missing on their fifth wedding anniversary and things eventually turn against Affleck’s character as he is suspected of killing his wife
The first teaser trailer is here, and wow, it’s a good one. We get various glimpses of the film, that is made creepier by Richard Butler (of the Psychedelic Furs) cover of Elvis Costello’s “She”, which plays over the trailer.
Ben Affleck looks to be giving quite the performance here. Gone Girl also stars Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Kim Dickens, Patrick Fugit, Missi Pyle, Sela Ward, and Scoot McNairy.
Gone Girl is expected to make a major Oscar push, as you’d expect from a Fincher film. We will see how it all goes down when Gone Girl is released on October 3.
