The first X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer still gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. It’s dramatic, epic, and features a beautiful score. I’ve seen it more times than I can count by now, so I’m more than ready to move on to the new trailer that was released earlier today.
While the first trailer set up the emotional stakes of the new film, this trailer gives us a more detailed look at all the action. We get some new scenes featuring all our favorite X-Men, as well as the re-hashing of some scenes, such as James McAvoy’s already quotable “I don’t want your future!” as young Professor X. We also get a good look at the Sentinels, as well as their creator Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage).
It all really does look quite epic. There’s a lot of X-Men who will be sharing the screen-time and there seems to be a lot going on, in addition to the time travel plot. I hope Bryan Singer brings his A-game, because after two epic trailers, expectations are certainly going to be sky high.
I am highly optimistic that he will deliver the goods when X-Men: Days of Future Past is released in theaters on May 23rd. Bring it.
