Jessie Ware @ The Box (December 10, 2012)

By Will Oliver, December 11th 2012 — with 1 comment

Jessie Ware’s American live debut came tonight at The Box, an intimate venue that housed maybe 100-150 people. Her debut album Devotion is an all around stunner that I still cannot get enough of. I was excited to what kind of power that she could bring live firsthand.

With no opener and just herself and her 3-piece live band, Jessie Ware wasted no time kicking things into full gear. With a beautiful light show providing her with a heavenly backdrop, she brought out all the stops. Her voice seized to amaze me, keeping all the power and grace that you would come to expect. The funky electronic r&b prowess of tracks such as “100%”, “Running”, “Wildest Moments”, and “Devotion” was stunning and a thing of magic.

Ware wasn’t shy, and was very sweet and enamored by the response that the NYC crowd gave her. She was very funny and had no problem interacting and laughing along with the crowd. She has all the makings of a star, without the ego and the hubris. She is a natural born star as shown by her powerful album, and her ability to transcend it all on the stage.

Jessie Ware is an immense talent. We will most likely see her rapid ascent in 2013, and after witnessing her likeable live show, I am rooting  for her, hard.

BenZel & Jessie Ware – If You Love Me

By Will Oliver, November 7th 2012

Jessie Ware can do no wrong in my eyes. She released one of the best debut albums that you will find this year, and continues to stay busy. She collaborated with the Osaka/New York duo BenZel on a song called “If You Love Me”. It’s actually a cover of a song that a 90s group called Brownstone did.

Check it out below.

[new]: Jessie Ware – Wildest Moments

By Will Oliver, June 19th 2012 — with 2 comments

“Wildest Moments” is the latest track shared from Jessie Ware’s debut album, Devotion. It’s another strong song form the soul singing pop-star who is sneaking up on us as one of 2012’s finest treasures.

Listen below.

Jessie Ware – 110%

By Will Oliver, June 16th 2012

Jessie Ware has been making moves in 2012, it’s my own fault for not being quick enough. If I missed out on her and her delightful pop masterpiece “100%”, then there’s a chance a few of you have as well. She’s a London singer whose collaborated with the likes of SBTRKT, and is now releasing her own debut album, Devotion, later this August.

Going to be a nice song to have over the summer. I always seem to have a a thing for good British female pop, so Ware is right up my alley. With a great soulful voice and a instant likeability, it’s easy to see why she seems to be taking off.

Watch/Listen to “110%” below.

Disclosure @ Mountain Oasis 2013 (October 27, 2013)

I’ve missed Disclosure three separate times not because I don’t like them, (I love them) but only because something really crazy would be going on against them at festivals. I was not missing them at this show because Disclosure also played at last years Moogfest.

Playing the USCC this year was a huge jump for them. They deserve it; they’ve blown up over the past year. Hands down Disclosure had the best dance party of the weekend. A vibe I will never forget, a whole lot of people dancing the hardest I’ve seen all weekend. Not to mention Jessie Ware made a special appearance and performed “Confess To Me” and “Running.” Something everyone should get a chance to enjoy. Hard to knock two young brothers who made such an unbelievable journey.

Check out some more photos from Disclosure’s set below.
