Jessie Ware at Le Poisson Rouge (October 30, 2017)

By Will Oliver, December 4th 2017 — with 1 comment

This year English singer Jessie Ware returned with her third album Glasshouse via Islands Records. Ware continues to prove she’s one of the most refreshing voices in pop music, always putting out reliable honest songs that the genre is in desperate need of.

On October 30 Ware returned to New York for a very intimate performance at Le Poisson Rouge in celebration of the albums release (much smaller than the last time we saw her). The show sold out as quick as you’d expect and for those who were lucky enough to grab tickets they were treated to an absolute gem of a performance.

Jessie Ware at Terminal 5 (April 1, 2015)

By Will Oliver, April 14th 2015 — with 1 comment

It was late in December 2012 where English pop-singer Jessie Ware made her live debut in New York City, playing the more than intimate The Box NYC. It was no secret that she was bound for much bigger things, which made the intimate showing that much more special. It certainly had me spoiled, as that was the only time I saw her live prior to her headlining show at Terminal 5 on April 1.

Last year Ware returned with her sophomore effort Tough Love, and has seen her stock rise even more than it did with her beloved debut album Devotion. Her fanbase has grown significantly in the two years plus since I last saw her perform, so much so that she packed out Terminal 5 with relative ease. She played a 17-song set full of the best cuts from both albums, with a full rich sound propelled by her live backing band.

What’s not to like about Ware? She writes great songs, has a beautiful voice, and is a very cheerful spirit that makes you feel welcome to join along. So much so that at her sold out Terminal 5 saw a marriage proposal go down on stage that Ware helped a fan orchestrate prior to the show. Find the video of that below along with a photo set of Ware’s performance.

Jessie Ware Setlist:

1. Running
2. Champagne Kisses
3. Cruel
4. If You’re Never Gonna Move
5. Tough Love
6. Keep On Lying
7. You & I (Forever)
8. Sweet Talk
9. Kind of…Sometimes…Maybe
10. The Way We Are
11. Pieces
12. No to Love
13. Sweetest Song
14. Taking in Water
15. Want Your Feeling
16. Wildest Moments
17. Say You Love Me

Jessie Ware – Want Your Feeling (Live at the Barbican)

By Will Oliver, September 12th 2014

Jessie Ware - Tough Love

Jessie Ware’s new album Tough Love is sounding like it’s going to be a strong follow-up to Devotion. At least based on the strength of “Say You Love Me” and “Tough Love.”

“Want Your Feeling” is the most recent cut shared from the album, and it’s actually a collaboration that Ware did with Devonté Hynes (Blood Orange). It’s a golden pop-song with a soulful core, with the fingerprints of Hynes all over the place. Throw in production from James Ford (of Simian Mobile Disco and producer of most of Arctic Monkeys stuff) and you got quite a team credited on the track.

Check out the live video of the song that was recorded as her performance at the Barbican in London. It’s posted below.

Jessie Ware – Say You Love Me

Jessie Ware - Say You Love Me

Jessie Ware’s 2012 album Devotion was one of my favorite albums of that year, and one of my favorite pop albums of recent memory. It’s great to see her back at it again so soon, with her follow-up album Tough Love due out on 6th October via Island Records.

We already heard “Tough Love,” and she’s since followed that with “Say You Love Me.” It’s a bit of a slow-jam, but it shows a great deal of growth from Ware, in a short period of time. It’s a fragile love song, one that she actually co-wrote with pop star Ed Sheeran.

[new]: Jessie Ware – Tough Love

By Will Oliver, June 25th 2014

Jessie Ware - Tough Love

Jessie Ware has returned with a new single called “Tough Love.” It’s the first single from her forthcoming new album, which was produced by BenZel. The single itself was co-wrriten with BenZel as well. No release date or other details have been released about the album, which hopefully will come out this year.

“Tough Love” is yet another sharp offering from Ware, who just knows how to create a wonderful pop song that sounds great and has substance. The production on the song leaves nothing to be desired. It just may be one of the best pop songs you’ll hear all year.

Enjoy it below.

[new]: Jessie Ware – Imagine It Was Us

By Will Oliver, March 27th 2013

Jessie Ware’s
lovely debut album Devotion is finally getting a U.S. release date, this April 16 on Interscope. It includes a new song titled “Imagine It Was Us” that was left off of the original version of the album.

It’s a radio friendly song that has a loose feel-good vibe to it. It’s something that they had no problem finding a place on the album clearly.

Listen to a radio rip below. Just beware, there are some annoying tags that you need to sit through to listen to the song.
