Belle and Sebastian, who we previously caught at College Street Music Hall last summer, returned to the States again for another run of summer tour dates. This time around they kicked off their North American tour with a performance at Brooklyn Steel on the night of July 10th.

This was a pretty balanced setlist with tons of the expected setlist staples such as “I’m a Cuckoo” and “Step Into My Office, Baby,” as well as “The Boy With the Arab Strap,” which the band once again invited fans to come up on stage with them and dance. It’s amazing to see how well frontman Stuart Murdoch and the rest of the band are able to make the crowd a part of their live experience, something that we all know isn’t always the case. Equally surprising was the number of tracks played from both Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like a Peasant and Dear Catastrophe Waitress.

Who knows when we will get to see Belle and Sebastian live next, so we took full advantage of this opportunity and left Brooklyn Steel completely and utterly charmed.
