Today Hot Chip announced that they will return with their seventh album A Bath Full of Ecstasy on June 21st via Domino Records. The album announcement comes accompanied by the release of the first song from the reocrd: “Hungry Child.”

At 6-minutes long, “Hungry Child” sweells towards big climatic build and climax that feels very much like the sort of track you hope for with Hot Chip, but also one that expands its reach to some elements of house and garage. It’s a welcome return for the band who have sorely been missed in the four years since their last album, 2015’s Why Make Sense?.

The album, which was recorded in Paris and London, sees the group (Owen Clarke, Al Doyle, Joe Goddard, Felix Martin and Alexis Taylor) open up to a more adventurous and collaborative songwriting process, choosing to work with outside producers for the first time: Philippe Zdar (whose produced albums for the likes of Phoenix, Cassius, The Rapture and Franz Ferdinand), and Rodaidh McDonald (who’s collaborated with The XX, David Byrne and Sampha, among other).

Find the official music video for “Hungry Child,” which was directed by Saman Kesh and features Martin Starr and Milana Vayntrub, posted below, along with the album’s cover and tracklist.
