I’m still quite torn about the split of Wild Beasts, who were one of the most reliable bands in the indie rock game. But today we get a clearer picture of why the band went their separate ways, with the band’s Hayden Thorpe releasing his debut single, “Diviner” via Domino Records.
It’s comforting to hear the trademark vocals of Thorpe soaring again. It doesn’t stray too far from the sort of contribution that eh would make with the band, a song that is distinctly very much his own but also one that should be an easy transition for fans of the band to make. We can only assume it’s off his eventual debut album due out maybe sometime this year.
