New Zeland’s The Beths released their debut album Future Me Hates Me this August via Carpark Records and it’s been a record that I’ve been obsessed with ever since.

I was not missing their headlining performance at Mercury Longe on October 11th, one of the two sold out shows that they brought to the city (with the other show taking place at Alphaville in Brooklyn on the 12th). The Mercury Lounge show featured an opening set by local band Poppies.

The Beths played 8 of the 10 songs off the album, along with a few tracks from their EP. They delivered their indie rock garage-pop songs to perfection, bringing both the irressistable and memorable hooks to life while also the garage rock shimmer that works to perfection in a live setting.

I can imagine them returning next for a performance at say Bowery Ballroom or MHOW, but in the meantime, find some photos from both their set and Poppies posted below, along with their setlist.
