Palma Violets are no more. Out of their ashes rose Gently Tender, the new band comprised of Sam Fryer, Pete Mayhew and Will Doyle of Palma Violets (that’s all of Palma Violets minus Chili Jesson), along with The Big Moon’s Celia Archer and guitarist Adam Brown.

It was clearly a time for a change for boys formerly of Palma Violets and that is perfectly clear on with their debut single “2 Chords Good,” which offers a bit of a dreamier ambitious sound than fans of PV may be used to. Then there’s the nuanced and chill vibe found on it’s b-side “Avez-vous déjà.” This is a mature sound for the group and a rather solid first impression as the newly minted Gently Tender.
